Face-To-Face: Teaching Teenagers What They Need To Know
Even in the digital age, teenagers need deep, personal relationships with adults and peers who see them for who they are–and who they might become. Florian Osswald, a Waldorf high school teacher and educational consultant from Switzerland with 30 years of experience in the fields of math and technology, will present a public talk on how parents and educators can inspire creative, analytic and human thinking in young people today.
鈥淭eaching adolescents in this time of great complexity demands that we develop our capacities of intuition, moving toward the future rather than working with concepts and actions based on the past,鈥� explains Osswald. 鈥淭o succeed in our schools, we must also address the young person鈥檚 longing to build strong community.鈥�
Osswald consults with schools around the world and is in the United States as the keynote speaker of the 2014 AWSNA Northeast/Quebec Regional Conference. The 麻豆原创 is honored to host Osswald鈥檚 public talk, Face-to-Face: Teaching Teenagers What They Really Need to Know, on Wednesday, March 19th at 7 p.m. at the school鈥檚 Turtle Lane Campus in Shelburne.
