Join us for an evening with powerful and insightful speaker, Michael D鈥橝leo on ‘The Middle School Mind: How Young Teenagers Become Flexible, Rational, and Analytic Young Adults.’ Discover how we can support our children during these challenging and important years.
D’Aleo will lead a discussion on the emotional and intellectual development of children between the ages of 12-16. Learn how teachers and parents can help the argumentative 12 year-old become the mature and thoughtful young adult you hope for! He will highlight how the Waldorf science curriculum helps foster capacities in our children that help them work through some of the black-and-white thinking that is inherent at this stage in life.

About Michael D鈥橝leo
D鈥橝leo has a Mechanical Engineering degree from Rutgers University, and a Masters degree in education from Sunbridge College. After completing his undergraduate studies, D鈥橝leo worked for seven years in the electronics field in design and development, and is listed as an inventor on seventeen U.S. patents. D鈥橝leo鈥檚 main interest was to find solutions to technical problems that resulted in designs that were based on processes found in the natural world.
In 1991, D鈥橝leo began teaching science, environmental studies and technology to middle and high school students. He has lectured internationally on science and education, serves as a teacher of teachers, and has authored books on teaching enlivened science and living with new technologies.
D鈥橝leo resides in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State.
